Doll Yourself Up

By June 18, 2013 November 1st, 2022 No Comments

Apparently, for a mere $1,300 and the 13 hour risk of deep vein thrombosis during the flight to Japan, you can be the proud owner of a 3D-printed doll. OF YOURSELF. It seems that millennial brides in Japan are all abuzz about capturing a head-to-toe replica of themselves on their wedding day. Talk about personal branding…

While I’ll be satisfied to just look at my wedding photos, the Clone Factory can make your plastic mold wedding day dreams come true. They use multiple DSLR cameras to capture the subject at several angles and the computer combines the photos and the plaster and ink printer molds the likeness.

Certainly an interesting concept to appeal to “the me generation.” And the final results appear to be uncanny. They offer the service for pets too, should you wish to get Fido in on the act.
