DROP IT LIKE IT’S HOTTER (POCKETS)

Hot Pockets. Those “pastries” (and I use the term loosely) filled with “meat and cheese” (and I use those words loosely) just released another viral video with Snoop Lion (nee Dogg). The first one, a spoof of the rapper’s “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” was apparently tasty enough to keep the brand going on this path. So here for your viewing pleasure is “You Got What I Eat” – a spoof of late-80s video one-hit wonder Biz Markie’s “You Got What I Need,” starring Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Kate Upton:

Much like Hot Pockets themselves, this vid is nutritionally devoid of anything I’d want to encounter on a regular basis. HOWEVER…when you pony up the big bucks for Snoop and Kate and have the big balls to go public with a video like this, you WILL get noticed. The brand is closing in on a million YouTube views already, and I’ve heard it talked about on radio, seen it printed about in top newspapers, and now I’m actually blogging about it.

I’m not the target market. We juice carrot greens at home. But does this video (and the product) “got what I eat” – if the “I” can be replaced with young men, the answer is yes.
