Services from S FREE, S3’s pro-bono program, will help amplify CHD Coalition’s mission
The S3 Agency is proud to announce the Congenital Heart Defect Coalition (CHD Coalition) as the winner of their new philanthropic program, S FREE. Last month, S3 launched S FREE, a quarterly initiative designed to provide the award-winning creative agency’s services free of charge to organizations that are too small, too new, or too non-profit to pay for them. CHD Coalition, a national non-profit dedicated to improving the quality of life for people born with heart disease, is the inaugural recipient of S3’s pro-bono program.
“We are floored by the number of inspiring organizations that applied for S FREE,” says Denise Blasevick, founding partner and CEO of The S3 Agency. “It was a difficult task to choose just one, but after an agency-wide vote, the Congenital Heart Defect Coalition emerged as the clear winner. We look forward to helping increase awareness for this meaningful charity.”
Congenital heart disease is the number one birth defect, affecting 1 in 100 babies born in the United States. The CHD Coalition, based in Butler, NJ, focuses on uniting and supporting the CHD community, increasing public awareness, and raising money for lifesaving research. There are no salaried employees. Volunteers come from diverse backgrounds including caring individuals, parents, doctors, nurses, and CHD survivors.
“We are honored to have our wish fulfilled by S3,” says Mike Laub, Executive Director, CHD Coalition. “When parents discover that their child has a life-threatening condition, they can feel alone – without hope and fearing the future. That’s where we come in. We are committed to research but have been seriously underfunded due to a lack of widespread national awareness. S FREE will help give us the tools we need to get to the next level and help even more people in the CHD community.”
The S3 Agency has created S FREE to be a quarterly program, allowing the agency to donate their advertising, public relations, and social media services to four different organizations per year. Eligible organizations must be located in NJ and have less than $1,000,000 in annual revenue or fundraising. The next application period begins in January 2017 at ineedSFREE.com.
