The Seal of Good Mousekeeping

Apparently it’s not enough that we sing “It’s a Small World,” visit different countries without ever leaving Orlando, support every animated movie by buying all related toy paraphernalia, and set sail aboard the SS Mickey. No, now Disney has seen fit (pun intended) to take on childhood obesity, becoming the first major media company to introduce new standards for food advertising on child-oriented programming, and they have introduced the “Mickey Check” tool to highlight their nutritious food items.

According to Progressive Grocer, by year’s end this logo will adorn qualifying licensed food products available in store, appropriate recipes on Disney.com and Family.com, and approved products at Disney resorts.

Looks like the Seal of Good Housekeeping just got some stiff competition from the Seal of Good Mousekeeping – and when it comes to strong brands, I’ll put my money where the mouse is every time.
