? Where will all the good tweets go? ?

Wondering who will own @Potus tweets? Read on.

Post election 2016. For some of us, the general climate is, well, unsavory to say the least. If you did not vote for President-elect Trump, you probably have a lot of concerns and serious questions about his upcoming presidency. Will people be deported? Will my reproductive rights be taken away? Will President Obama’s tweets be deleted once there is a new POTUS?

Being the first President of the social media age, President Obama and the folks at the White House have released an official digital transition strategy. The President’s team will work with the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) to conserve his administrations’ posts.

So President-elect Trump won’t be able to sign in and delete all of Obama’s tweets – they will be moved to other accounts and archived with NARA. The handle @POTUS will be made available to the President-elect Trump on January 20, 2017 and the account will keep the 11 million+ followers. All of President Obama’s tweets will be moved to @POTUS44, due to being the 44th President of the United States.

With an already controversial Twitter account, we will have to see how President-elect Trump will do with the official @POTUS account. Will he throw an epic Trump Twitter-tantrum? Will he block Hillary Clinton? No matter who you voted for, the new @POTUS account promises to be interesting and entertaining, if not mildly terrifying.
