New Gatorade Ad Is Unmatched

Eight days ago, Gatorade released a new spot featuring Serena Williams. The vignette entitled “Unmatched” is all about this incredible athlete’s belief in herself – from the time she was a little girl. Less a commercial and more a mini-movie everyone should have their daughters (and sons) watch, this 60-second video has all the feels…and none of the branding, until the Gatorade logo appears at the very end. A quiet exclamation point, if you will. That brand restraint makes the messaging even more powerful – and the branding even more authentic. We believe that the slogan, Win from Within, is less a trademarked tagline and more a mantra to be passed from one person to another, helping to elevate society as we do. And Gatorade is playing a legitimate part in the sharing of that message. So now it’s time for me to pass it on, adding yet more views to the 8.5 million that have been clocked during the first week.

Oh, and congratulations to Serena on her victory against her sister at last night’s U.S. Open quarter finals.
