The S3 Agency Named A New Jersey Monthly Great Oak Awards Winner

The S3 Agency is one of ten winners of the fourth annual Great Oak Awards, a program created by New Jersey Monthly to honor the state’s most generous companies. Selected from a group of 50 finalists, the winning companies were announced on September 13, 2017 by Kate S. Tomlinson, Publisher and Editor in Chief of New Jersey Monthly, and Michael J. Smith, President of Berkeley College and Presenting Sponsor, at a dinner ceremony held at the Park Chateau in East Brunswick, NJ.

Best known for creating breakthrough campaigns for brands such as BMW, Tetley Tea and Wyndham Worldwide, The S3 Agency was selected for a Great Oak Award due to its dedication to giving back to the NJ community via pro bono work. In fact, the agency formalized its philanthropic efforts last year with the creation of S FREE, a program designed to provide free creative services to worthwhile organizations that are “too new, too small, or too non-profit” to afford them.

The complete list of 2017 Great Oak Award winners, which will be featured in the November issue of New Jersey Monthly, includes:

  • BD (Becton Dickinson)
  • Bayer
  • Columbia Bank of Fair Lawn
  • Ernst & Young
  • Nisivoccia LLP
  • OpDecision LLC
  • Riker Danzig
  • The S3 Agency
  • The Silverstrom Group
  • WithumSmith+Brown LLC

“What an amazing feeling it is to be recognized alongside so many other companies whom we truly admire,” said Denise Blasevick, CEO of The S3 Agency. “Our team is equally dedicated to doing good work and to doing good, and we are all incredibly grateful to New Jersey Monthly for creating this meaningful award – and for deeming S3 a worthy recipient.”

Winners were selected by an independent committee who reviewed data and descriptions regarding outstanding generosity to the community – in terms of financial support, in-kind giving, volunteerism and sharing expertise. The judges included William H. Byrnes, Vice President, Grants, F.M. Kirby Foundation; Hans Dekker, President, Community Foundation of New Jersey; Dennis Miller, Managing Director for The Nonprofit Search Group; and Abby O’Neill, Principal, Abby O’Neill Consulting, LLC.

“The companies that are finalists and winners range from small companies to some of the state’s largest,” says Tomlinson. “They are in diverse industries. And they support a myriad of charities and causes. Yet they all have one thing in common—a passion for helping to make life better here in the Garden State.”
